If you like getting hot, sweaty and out of breath, take a seat and get comfortable my friends.

No, this isn’t one of those websites where you need to close your bedroom door and grab the Kleenex – sorry to disappoint!

I’ve been on and off with my fitness regime since 2010, but back into it fully since July 2016 – see obligatory progress selfie above – I am just beginning my journey into becoming a PT, my ultimate goal is to own my own gym, so this blog is my dumping ground for workouts, exercise tips, my experiences, recipes and my ramblings.

I was always the chubbier of my siblings and loved my food. My sister and I have a running joke that ‘if you didn’t eat fast enough Amy would eat it’ but it’s not all wrong ..

I hated P.E. in school and college. I am one of the clumsiest people I’ve ever met and my hand-eye co-ordination is seriously lacking. Any sport we played I was all over the place like a 3-legged donkey, so naturally I felt like all the other kids laughed at me and I hated going to lessons.

When I finished college I realised I’d done one thing I promised myself I wouldn’t – gain more weight than I’d even realised.

So naturally, I started to torture myself on the treadmill, followed by the cross trainer for 20 minutes each. Finishing with several ab exercises and maybe a few dumbbell exercises – if I was feeling brave.

I did this routine several times a week without changing my eating habits and would wonder why I wasn’t seeing any progress.

It wasn’t until a couple of years ago when I was working out at home that I started to lift weights instead of doing the usual cardio.

I’d found an entirely new love for exercise because with this you can actually see results! Eventually I started at my local gym, ignoring ‘gymtimidation’ and went straight into the weights section.

For the first time in years I found something I loved doing and was making a real difference to my body too. I’d never felt as strong or confident in myself!

I have had a few people contact me asking for help and advice with losing weight, exercising and such like. I love the feeling of helping people along in their journey, so why not come along and enjoy the ride.

Follow my blog and let’s do this!
