Changing Your Mentality To Become Successful #4 – Have A Little, Patience

As a species we are all incredibly impatient. And as technology develops to give us things such as Uber Eats and Amazon deliveries within an hour, that impatience is only increasing. So it’s really important for you to remember that not all good things happen immediately – sometimes they do come to those who wait.

“My dad said to me – Work hard and be patient. It was the best advice he ever gave me. You have to put the hours in.”

Simon Cowell

It took me 2 years to be able to play one of my favourite songs on the guitar, and even now it still takes some work to remember exactly how it goes.

Impatience is the first reason the majority of people don’t achieve their goals. It’s taking too long so they lose interest in it all together. As soon as you realise how much work something can be and how long it would potentially take, that uphill climb seems like too much.

The gym is exactly the same. People walk in thinking they’re going to look like Hanna Öberg within a week or two of being there.
Whilst we’re on the subject of Hanna, check her out. She’s one of my biggest fitness inspirations and her workouts are INSANE 🖤

As soon as people realise they need to put in a minimum of 5 years of hard work and dedication, their goals aren’t as important and they don’t want to achieve them as bad.

Once you accept that you need to put in the hard work and work your ass off for a few years, you start to enjoy it. All of the little steps you make and small goals you achieve become something to celebrate because you know it’s taking you closer to your ultimate goal.

The beginning will be difficult, but remember that the work you put in will be worth it and eventually you will achieve anything you put your mind to.

“Trust the process. Your time is coming. Just do the work and the results will handle themselves.”

Tony Gaskins
